The Korean Skin Care Adventure: Ordering from Memebox US and shipping to the Philippines
This is the first time I’m writing about my Korean beauty product orders from the United States. Most of the Korean skin care items that I use are not available here in the Philippines or is cheaper abroad. If you are asking why from the US and not directly from Korea? The answer is simple, shipping and customs.
Yes, it is a bit expensive and it takes longer to ship from Korea to the US and then to the Philippines but you won’t get those exorbitant customs taxes when you get your haul from the Pasay EMS Post office.
For this particular order I used Myecasa.com to ship from the US to the Philippines. I will review the process and relay my experience in another post.
The site is simple to navigate, registration is also easy. They also have discounts on certain items as well as free shipping within the US for a minimum purchase of $35. They not only sell skin care products but also make up and other cosmetics.
They carry popular brands such as Innisfree, Banila Co, Benton, Cosrx, Berrisom, Dr. Jart, Etude House and lots more.
I ordered the elusive Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream from them as they had it on sale. Got it from $22, a few dollars more expensive than the eBay sellers but this one ships directly from the US so I don’t have to wait 10 days, only 3 days (shipped to Myecasa US address.)
Memebox only delivers within the United States and Myecasa only accepts packages coming from within the US. Both conditions are met and my order was successfully placed. I paid through Paypal and had the package shipped to my Myecasa US address.
Aside from the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream, I ordered 2 more items as they were on sale as well, the Innisfree Broccoli Clearing Lotion and the Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Whitening Power Essence. Memebox US offers free shipping on orders $35 and above. My order totaled $56 so I got the free shipping automatically.
I ordered the items last April 30, 2016 and it arrived at Myecasa US warehouse April 25, 2016. That was fast. Shipping was through USPS and they also provided the tracking number so I was able to check the status of the delivery. You can check the status of your order in your My Account page once you log in on the Memebox site. You can also check the USPS tracking number from there.
There was a tax of $3.25 as this was shipped to California and they charge sales tax there. I registered an account through an affiliate link so I got a discount code which I applied on this order. You can get the same discount by using my affiliate link below. I also used my welcome memebox points amounting to $5, hence the reduced total amount.

Fast forward to the time I received my package here in the Philippines, the box was intact and there were no damages to the items. The items were neatly packed and bubble wrapped with some pink paper confetti as filling. I thought this was really cute. Most orders I got from abroad have those styro balls or crumpled paper as package filling.
Below are some photos of the unboxing. I was really excited to get this package as it was my first time ordering from Memebox US.
