Here’s a Carbonara recipe you can try. It’s simple and you can find all the ingredients easily. There are no crazy cooking procedures so you can relax that it will at least be edible after cooking it.
Pasta noodles of your choice.
1 can Jolly Cream of Mushroom soup (or any canned cream of mushroom soup)
1 small can Evaporated Milk
1 small can Jolly mushroom
2 tbsp butter
Bacon (you can use chicken or ham or not adding any is also fine)
1/2 tsp Basil (Forget Maccormick, the ones on the pouch that SM Bonus or Landmark or Cash and Carry sells for less than 20pesos is perfect for this and it will last you a long time.)
1/2 tsp Parsley (You can use dried or fresh parsley. I bought fresh Parsely for 13pesos at Cash and Carry and I only used a little.)
Half Onion – chopped
Cheese – optional
Salt and pepper to taste.
Cook pasta according to instructions.
For the sauce:
Melt butter in pan.
Stir in onions, bacon and mushroom. Fry till bacon and onions are cooked.
Toss in Cream of Mushroom and milk. Stir until there are no lumps.
Add the basil and parsley.
Season with salt and pepper.
Top with cheese if you prefer.
